A PRAYER OF DEDICATION
The earth and all its fullness is yours, 0 Lord,
the world and those who dwell there in.
Every beast of the forest is yours,
even the cattle on a thousand hills.
If you were hungry, you would not tell me,
for the world and all that is in it is yours.v
You made the world and everything in it;
you are Lord of heaven and earth.
You are not served by human hands,
nor do you need anything.
You are the one who gives all men life and breath and everything.
You have not received direction from anyone.
No counselor has instructed you.
You have not consulted anyone for enlightenment.
You need no one to teach you knowledge.
Compared to you...
all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing.
all the nations are as nothing,
and all the rulers of the earth are as nothing.
They are accounted as less than nothing.
the nations are like a drop from a bucket,v
and are accounted as the dust on the scales.
To whom then will I liken God,
or with what likeness compare you?
0 Lord, my Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
When I look at the heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars which you established;
What is man that you are mindful of him,
and what am I that you are mindful of me?
What can I offer you, my God?
With what shall I come before you,
and bow myself before you, the God on high?
I will do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly before you.
I will offer you the sacrifice of my broken spirit,
my broken and contrite heart, 0 God, you will not despise
I will present my body as a living sacrifice to you.
