A Prayer for Forgiveness

Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, who forgives all my sins. If you, O Lord, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared. If your people will turn from their wicked ways, you will forgive their wickedness and their sin. You are the God who says, "I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You are faithful and just and you will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed are those whose sins the Lord does not count against them.

To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul; in you I trust, O my God. O Lord, listen! O Lord, forgive! Forgive all my sins, and receive me graciously. Forgive me of my sins, as I have forgiven those who have sinned against me. For the sake of your name, O Lord, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. In accordance with your great love, please forgive my sin. Forgive me by the blood of Jesus, your Son, which was poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. Forgive me through the name of Jesus, the one in whom I believe. Forgive also my hidden faults.

I have acknowledged my sin to you and I did not cover up my iniquity, and you forgave the guilt of my sin. May I be able to forgive whatever grievances I have against others. May I be able to forgive as the Lord has forgiven me. In Jesus name, Amen.
